Case overview
The Rendlesham Forest incident refers to a series of late-December 1980 sightings near RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk, where U.S. Air Force personnel investigated lights they could not identify in the surrounding forest. After the first report, several servicemen entered the woods and later described lights and what some believed was an object. Two nights later, deputy base commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt led another team into the forest and made an audio recording while observing unexplained lights. In January 1981, Halt documented the episode in his official ‘Unexplained Lights’ memorandum. Claims involving ground marks, radiation readings and physical contact remain disputed, and the case is often called ‘Britain’s Roswell.’
