Recorded readings · active 1901–1944 · life 1877–194501 · WHAT IT IS
Overview
An archive expansion that keeps Cayce's health readings while tracing his claims about soul, death, communication with the departed, reincarnation, planetary sojourns and the later THINGS/‘soulless humans’ genealogy.

04 · HEALTH
Body — the records remain; efficacy is a separate question
The existing health material remains the first axis of this record. Diet, massage, castor-oil packs, osteopathy and chiropractic appear in historical reading transcripts and topical indexes. Individual improvement stories, however, are not clinical trials of diagnostic accuracy, safety or efficacy. Current clinical care, qualified practitioners and evidence-based safety information take priority; this record must not be used for medical decisions.

Did Cayce actually say this?
Consciousness after death
Reading 1472-2 describes death as passing through ‘God's other door’ and asserts continuing consciousness. The Foundation's 1958 special-collection item B1 preserves this as a distinct study topic. This is a claim in the Cayce material, not scientific confirmation of post-mortem consciousness.
Source A3 ↓Source B1 ↓Communication with the departed
Reading 3744-2 answers that communication with those said to have passed into the spirit world is possible. The transcript's existence and the reality of such communication are different claims.
Source A3 ↓Source B1 ↓Reincarnation
A.R.E. summarizes that reincarnation appeared nearly 2,000 times in the twenty years after 1923. That is a foundation classification and count, not independent proof of reincarnation.
Source A2 ↓Planetary sojourns
Readings including 317-4 and 1494-1 speak of ‘planetary influences’ or ‘environs’ between earthly lives. The text does not establish literal travel to physical planetary surfaces.
Source A4 ↓THINGS / automatons
The published quotation from 1968-2 refers to ‘automatons or THINGS’ retained for household, agricultural and artisan labour. That wording does not itself state that they lacked souls or were NPCs.

07 · SOURCE TRACE
Did Cayce describe ‘soulless humans’?
The verified 1968-2 quotation calls them ‘automatons or THINGS’ retained for labour. It does not, on its own, establish the modern label ‘soulless humans,’ literal human appearance, absence of free will, or absence of a soul. ‘Entrapped souls’ is common language in later Atlantis commentary, so Salgil does not label it a direct Cayce quotation here.

08 · PHILOSOPHICAL COMPARISON
Does Cayce's worldview resemble simulation theory?
This is not a claim that Cayce predicted simulation theory. One system uses religious and metaphysical language of soul, reincarnation and consciousness; the other is a modern philosophical analogy involving information, avatars and systems. They can only be compared structurally as ways of asking about body and consciousness.
Earth-change readings remain separately audited in Record #051, with their text, geology and later maps kept distinct. Open #051 →

What can and cannot be confirmed
Cayce's readings offer a worldview in which a person is more than a body. The presence of a transcribed reading, however, is not scientific proof of an afterlife, reincarnation, communication with the dead or Atlantis. The path from THINGS to ‘soulless humans’ may add a stronger later interpretation than the located wording supports. If something continues after death, is it a soul, consciousness, or information?
